KWAZULU-NATAL: Group Wreck International Non Ferrous (Pty) Ltd represented by Angelina Soloimine was convicted for contravention of Trade and Administration Act 71 of 2002 on 22 October 2019.

Accused tried to export two containers of copper hiding it as scrap metal and submitted a false declaration. In the process the accused tried to evade custom duties on these containers, furthermore the accused did not have the necessary permit to export copper to the total value of R 3 340 000,00.

The company was found guilty and fined R 500,000.00 of which R250 000.00 is suspended for a period of 5 years.
