Crime prevention activities Aliwal North Cluster

EASTERN CAPE – During the weekend several crime prevention activities took place in the Aliwal North Cluster. Members of K9 formed part of Crime Prevention patrols in Aliwal North and Sterkspruit Policing areas.

The taxi rank was identified and while they were busy with the patrols after received positive information at New rest. The information was followed up and they managed to arrest a suspect for possession of dagga, 16 Parcels and 2 mandrax pills in different sizes were confiscated.

Steynsburg – Members of Visible Policing were busy with crime prevention patrols when they noticed a suspicious person carrying equipment. As he saw the SAPS he tried to run away but the property was too heavy. The 58-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of suspected stolen property and the welder and garden pipe recovered.

At Palmietfontein during the week members also closed down several illegal Shebeen at Qhoboshiyana, Ngquthu and Ndingishe. The Cluster Commander Colonel Mpho Rabela commended the members for the successes and also mentioned that it is clear that enhanced police visibility has a positive impact in our fight against crime.
