WEST RAND – Police in Krugersdorp arrested seven security guards today, 15 May 2020, for aiding the escape of thirty-seven illegal immigrants who escaped from Lindela repatriation centre on Saturday, 02 May 2020.
The seven security guards were handed in at Krugersdorp police by their lawyer. They were all released on warning to appear before Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 19 May 2020. Two are still outstanding.
Since the escape of the thirty-seven illegal immigrants, no one has been rearrested. Police are still calling for anyone who may have information that could lead to the rearrests of the illegal immigrants, to report to the nearest police station or call the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or by using MySAPS App.
