Sauti Sol Rent Chopper for Saturday Rendevous

On Saturday, Sauti Sol rented a chopper to run their errands. The Sura Yako stars were booked to perform at two shows, hold meetings with two entertainment personalities and attend a concert. The four members jetted from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport after their performance at the Chase Bank’s Save A Mum event held at Ngong Road Forest Sanctuary.
The event began at 8am. Sauti Sol performed and left the venue at 1:30pm and flew to Naivasha for their second stage performance of the day.
They landed at Enashipai Resort in time for their 3:30pm performance at the finale of the Airtel Trace Music Star where Akon was the chief guest and judge. Sauti Sol are said to also have had a meeting with Akon, though it is not clear if they got the time to meet. Anyiko Awoko, the band’s publicist told Word Is, “They had to pay for the chopper because they had to kill two birds with one stone. This is important because they miss appearances due to time and location constraints. So, most definitely this will be something the band will be doing.”
The chopper hired also ferried the award-winning stars back to Nairobi where they had a “meeting with Davido and attended his concert”. The group made up of vocalists Bien-Aimé Baraza, Willis Chimano, Delvin Mudigi and guitarist Polycarp Otieno jetted off yesterday to South Africa for a five day trip.
