At the start of the weekend the sector teams at Sterkspruit together with crime prevention under command of Captain Dyasi, Captain Mbolekwa and Sergeant Mankayi conducted high visibility crime prevention operations to decrease contact crimes specifically Murders and assault Gross body harm.
The focus area included Sunduza, Tienbank and Masekeleng a/a. Three illegal liquor outlets were closed down and possession of dagga cases opened, suspects age 56, 44 and 37 were arrested. The operations continued with a second team from 18:00 to 02:00 with also the following successes:
A 29-years-old man was found in possession of dagga in town, 27-years-old man was also found in Mokhesi in possession of dagga and a 49-years-old suspect was found Selling liquor without a license. All three persons were arrested and liquor and Dagga were confiscated.
The acting Cluster Commander Colonel Mpho Rabela commended Sterkspruit on the operations to ensure that they address the serious and contact crimes that threaten the safety of our community. As SAPS we daily claim back our space from the perpetrators that will not get away with their criminal conduct said Colonel Rabela.
