In their quest to create a safer environment for all people in Muizenberg, SAPS members conducted one of their random patrols in Hillview on Thursday, 2018-02-15.

During the operation, a 26-year-old man was arrested after a 9mm pistol, which had been reported stolen in Grassy Park in April 2017, was discovered in his possession, along with 15 rounds of live ammunition. The suspect is due to make a court appearance at the Muizenberg Magistrates’ Court on 2018-02-19 to face charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula, encourages community members to continue exchanging information with the police about criminal activities taking place in their respective areas in order to create a safe and secure environment for all.
