New york: The Palestinian Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, has urged the UN Security Council and the global community to implement decisive and immediate actions to halt the crimes of Israeli occupation, end the illegal occupation, dismantle settlement projects, ensure accountability, and recognize the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and independence. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Mansour addressed a letter to Security Council President Jerome Bonafont, documenting recent statements, policies, and actions by Israeli officials, which he claims reveal plans to displace Palestinians and erase Palestine. This includes the escalation of violence in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. Mansour accused Israel of aiming to destroy the Palestinian people, citing plans of displacement and ethnic cleansing as actively pursued objectives by Israeli institutions. He highlighted statements by Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, who indicated on Se ptember 2 that there is no solution for Gaza without emigration, proposing the expulsion of Palestinians by various means. He also noted Katz's threats of a full-scale military operation in the West Bank, including evacuations and targeted attacks on Palestinian Authority officials. Additionally, Mansour cited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's refusal to withdraw from Gaza, as well as plans for settlement expansion. Mansour reviewed Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's "Disengagement 710" plan, which aims to voluntarily emigrate 1.86 million Palestinians from Gaza over seven years. Ben-Gvir's policies reportedly include mistreating Palestinian detainees, using the death penalty, and promoting forced displacement. Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich's initiatives to establish settlements near Bethlehem, increase settler numbers, and displace Palestinians were also highlighted. Smotrich's declarations claim parts of the West Bank for Israel and propose settlement expansion in the Negev and Galilee. Mansour mentioned the demolition of the village of Khirbet al-Taban, displacing over 70 citizens, and the attack on Al-Mughayyir village, where two children were killed. The village, surrounded by settlement outposts, has experienced numerous attacks this year, often involving Israeli forces. He also addressed the targeting of Palestinian refugee camps in the northern West Bank, displacing many residents. A report from the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights documented civilian casualties, infrastructure destruction, and humanitarian aid restrictions. In Gaza, Mansour described ongoing ethnic cleansing through blockades, bombings, and deprivation of essential services. He mentioned that many Palestinians live in poor conditions and face severe food insecurity, with humanitarian aid being used as a tool for displacement. Mansour welcomed international measures, including product bans and sanctions on Israeli settlements by countries like the United Kingdom, France, Canada, and othe rs. He called for these positions to translate into binding actions, such as complete bans on settlement products and broader sanctions. He urged the implementation of measures to prevent economic activities supporting Israel's occupation and settlement projects, including halting arms transfers and imposing sanctions. Mansour emphasized actions over statements to help Palestinians achieve their rights, urging the Security Council and international community to expand and strengthen their measures.
